Jumping Seat Candidate

Ever since I first jumped onto a pony at the Griffith Park pony rides when I was five, horses have been at the center of my life. What started as a fun weekend activity quickly became my passion—and now, my dream for the future. Riding, competing, and showing have shaped who I am, and I’m excited to continue that journey in college and riding for a collegiate equestrian team.

I began taking lessons three times a week at age six, and by eight, I was training seriously with Jackie Bogstad at Mark Watring Stables. Not long after, my parents leased me a hunter/equitation horse, and I’ve been riding 5–6 days a week ever since. I now train with Olympian Mark Watring, working with multiple horses and constantly pushing myself to improve.

I’m currently a sophomore at Newbury Park High School in California, where I’m focused on both academics and athletics. I maintain a 3.7 GPA and am also enrolled in dual enrollment courses at Moorpark College. Outside of the barn, I’m a varsity track athlete and love spending time with friends and family, but the barn is where I truly feel the happiest. Whether I’m schooling my own horse or catch riding, I love learning from every ride and building connections with different horses.

I’ve also attended several pre-collegiate riding camps, where I experienced the demands and excitement of collegiate-level riding (and love it!). These experiences confirmed what I already knew, I love team environments, and I’m driven to compete at the highest level. Riding for an NCEA Division Equestrian Team is a goal I’ve been working toward for years.

Horses have taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of being part of a supportive community. I’m ready to bring that energy and dedication to the next chapter of my life, and I can’t wait to contribute to my future team both in and out of the arena.
